Electronic Signatures Using Connie
Privacy Statement for those using Connie to electronically sign a document.
About Connie Connie is a secure, user-friendly platform that allows companies and organizations to collect electronic signatures and manage documents efficiently. Our platform is designed to uphold the highest standards of privacy, security, and legal compliance.
Is it Safe to Sign with Connie? Yes.
Connie complies with the eIDAS Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014), which establishes a legal framework for electronic identification and trust services in the EU. This ensures our electronic signatures are legally binding and meet the highest standards of security, privacy, and transparency.
Are Electronic Signatures Legally Binding? Yes.
When you "Swipe to Sign" or "Long Press to Sign," you create a Simple Electronic Signature (SeS). For certain documents, you may be required to use a third-party authentication mechanism, such as the Danish MitID, to create an Advanced Electronic Signature (AeS). Both SeS and AeS are legally valid, though AeS offers enhanced authentication.
You can read more about the legal validity of electronic signatures here.
What Happens When You Sign? By signing a document on Connie, you consent to:
Using electronic signatures for the document.
Acknowledging that your signature is legally binding under applicable electronic signature laws.
The storage of your full name, email address, and IP address to verify the validity of the signed document.
Additionally, any information you enter into the document will be accessible to the issuing company and any other signers of the document.
Who is Responsible for Your Data?
Connie acts as a data processor on behalf of our customers (the data controllers).
Signers (you) use Connie to sign documents issued by our customers. As the data controllers, customers determine how your data is processed and stored.
What Data Does Connie Store? Connie processes and stores the following information:
Your name, email address, IP address, and photo (if required).
Any additional personal data entered into documents at the discretion of the data controller.
Signed Document Storage:
Signed documents can be stored in the Connie Document Archive if you opt in during the signing process. Documents not stored will be deleted from your archive after 14 days.
The Connie Document Archive uses encrypted storage, accessible only via your credentials (typically your email address).
Audit Logs: To provide evidence of signing and resolve potential issues, necessary logs and audit data related to the signature session are retained per retention policies.
Purpose of Data Processing Connie processes data solely to enable secure and legally binding electronic signatures. The specific purposes and security measures are outlined in a data processing agreement (DPA) between Connie and the data controller.
Processed Data Includes:
Name and email address
Unique digital certificate number
User metadata (e.g., IP address, language settings, device type, browser)
Document Handling: Documents are displayed to signers and packaged into a final signed document along with signer verification data and metadata. Connie does not process or extract document content during this process. Any additional private data within the documents is determined solely by the data controller.
